Description
Dressing Your Baby – Antenatal Class / Newborn Baby Care Printable Activity
Turn newborn clothing confusion into confidence with this interactive, print-and-play activity designed for antenatal classes, workshops, parent education sessions and secondary school baby care education.
Dressing Your Baby is a hands-on, discussion-based learning activity where participants practise dressing a newborn for different situations, temperatures, and environments. Using printable baby figures and layered clothing pieces, learners explore what to dress baby in, when, and why — without the pressure of getting it “perfect”.
It’s practical, inclusive, low-prep (print, cut, laminate and reuse), and (most importantly) engaging.

How It Works
Facilitators or teachers present a scenario (e.g. sleeping at home, going outside in winter, a warm summer walk, visiting friends, bedtime routines) and invite participants or students to dress their baby accordingly.
The activity naturally supports learning about:
- Layering and temperature regulation
- Practical baby care decisions
- Comfort and safety
- Seasonal and environmental considerations
Pieces can be cut out and laminated for durability and reuse. Learners can also design their own baby clothes by adding patterns and details — building a reusable class clothing library over time.
