A discussion and decision-making activity for parents-to-be to explore common concerns about feeding their baby or their baby’s wellbeing.


The Baby Feeding Traffic Lights activity is an activity for parents-to-be to explore common questions and concerns when feeding their new baby. Some questions are exclusively about breastfeeding/chestfeeding/nursing a baby however, others explore the general wellbeing of newborn babies.

After participating in this activity, the participants will be able to describe common concerns and be able to categorise them by importance. The categories are:

  • All is well
  • May need some attention – speak to someone
  • (Urgent) medical attention needed
